]]>On the gorilla trek, we hiked up Mount Karisimbi, at first from about 2400 meters elevation rather rapidly, and then through a circuitous path (much more difficult to do) in the rainforest to about 3100 meters. Finding the gorillas was other-wordly, quiet except for birds chirping and very natural-seeming gorilla behavior (see the videos on this site or on YouTube--search for "JKdrumdoc" videos if looking for them on YouTube).

If you can only see a little of these, start with the first 30 to 45 seconds of the breastfeeding video, then see the baby bothering the silverback, then the close-up.
